Hypertelorism correction

Hypertelorism or widely spaced eyes is a feature of multiple craniofacial syndromes. The example shown is a young girl I have treated with Cleidocranial dysostosis. The surgical techniques used are individualized depending on the degree or orbital narrowing required and the proportions of the forehead.

Eight children had orbital translocation surgery during 2006. Diagnoses also included Jackson Weiss syndrome, Opitz syndrome, Proteus syndrome, Klippel Feil syndrome and Craniofrontonasal dysplasia.
